A rising super star in Europe, it is admired for opulent red wine made from century + old vines (40’ deep) on steep rocky hillsides with cool and sunny vineyards. Noted for its “black fruit” (blackberry, black cherry, black currants and dark coffee bean aromas) and distinctive mineral rich aftertaste. After 2 hours of decanting, serve it at 60 degrees in a large bowl wine glass (1/4 full!) with hearty cheeses, cold cuts, gamey cuts of lamb, beef or venison.
