This 2008 Bouchard Pere & Fils (winery) Monthelie (village) Clos Les Champs Fuillots (vineyard) 1er Cru (Burgundy’s 2nd highest quality grade) typically produces medium rich to lighter red wines typically served with Coq au Vin (wine stewed chicken), veal cutlet, river fish, rabbit and mild cheeses. This delicious find represents an example of a “best in class” gem that displays richer concentration, charm, vibrant black cherry, purple plum, blackberry and strawberry aromas and a charming fresh acidity that adds vibrance to the food flavors and a pleasant palate cleansing finish.
Decant for half to one hour and serve in a medium sized, apple shaped wine goblet at European room temperature (65 – 70 degrees F).
